Acerca de mí
I’m an IT professional with a passion for problem-solving and innovation. I also served for eight years as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan. My time in the military instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, resilience, and adaptability, qualities that have shaped every aspect of my life.
Type 1 diabetic
In 2024, I embarked on an incredible journey of athletic achievements, completing my first 70.3 Ironman, qualifying for and racing in the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship 21k, finishing my first 50k ultramarathon (where I earned 3rd place), and conquering my first full Ironman-distance event at the Patagonman Xtreme Triathlon.
These milestones highlight my commitment to pushing boundaries, embracing challenges, and continuously striving for growth, whether in my career or in my personal pursuits.
I first discovered Patagonman through videos on Instagram. The stunning landscapes and the incredible stories of perseverance from the athletes caught my attention. When I saw that the entry lottery only cost $20 and the proceeds would be donated to a good cause, I thought, "Why not?" It felt like a small way to contribute.
I honestly didn’t expect to be selected and had no idea that this decision would lead to one of the greatest adventures of my life. What started as a simple gesture turned into an unforgettable journey of challenge, self-discovery, and triumph.

Mi experiencia en Patagonman
The Swim
🏊♂️❄️ The day started at 2 a.m. in a freezing, rainy cabin in Patagonia. After a bone-chilling boat ride to the start line, I jumped into the icy, pitch-black void wearing my thermal wetsuit.
The swim was pure chaos: fighting against the current, near-zero visibility, and even heading toward the wrong port at one point. But I refused to quit. Every stroke reminded me of the training and sacrifices that brought me here.
1 hour and 22 minutes later, I made it to shore. We did it 💪🔥 An unforgettable experience.
🚴♂️ The Bike
180 km of pure Patagonia: freezing transitions, punishing hills, and relentless winds. The day started strong, but early challenges—like losing a bottle and overheating in long sleeves—set the tone for a tough ride. The first 70 km flew by on flat terrain, but the hills brought steep climbs, 15+ mph headwinds, and rough gravel roads. Hydration ran low, my gears maxed out, and my back ached from endless brick-patched roads. Despite it all, the stunning views reminded me why I was here. My support team kept me fueled and motivated, meeting me at key points with hydration and food. Every climb tested my limits, but every downhill brought speed and adrenaline. After 8 grueling hours, I rolled into transition in Villa Castillo, feeling great and grateful for the experience and ready to face the 28-mile trail run ahead. This race is more than a test of endurance—it's a journey of resilience.
The Run
After finishing the bike portion, I expected my support team to be ready with my running gear, but they were delayed. My support arrived running with my clothes. Improvising, I quickly found a spot, changed, and started the run feeling cold but determined. With 10 hours into the race and 7 hours left to finish the marathon, I decided to relax and enjoy the journey. I jogged the flats, walked the hills, and stopped occasionally to admire the breathtaking Patagonian landscapes.
The trail brought challenges like cold river crossings and steep hills, but also unforgettable views and moments shared with fellow athletes. By the 30 km mark, hunger set in, but seeing Vivian with warm soup and encouragement gave me the boost I needed. She joined me for the final stretch as we tackled the long, flat roads under a stunning Patagonian sunset.
As I approached the finish line, reflecting on months of 3 am 5hr trainer bike rides, late-night runs, and all the sacrifices made. Crossing that line was a moment of triumph and gratitude—I am officially a Patagonman! 🌎💪🏽
