In early 2018, a teammate from my triathlon team mentioned that he had entered the lottery for the Patagonman Xtri. This race, part of the Xtri circuit, immediately caught my attention. I had already completed several 140.6 Ironman races, but I was looking for something more challenging and demanding, and this race was exactly what I was searching for. Additionally, due to my career, I had lived in the Aysén region and fallen in love with its landscapes and natural surroundings—precisely where this race takes place—making it truly unique in Chile and South America.
